Event summary

EMA is holding the second meeting of the Industry Standing Group (ISG). This new forum for interaction has been established as part of the EMA's continuous improvement for engagement with industry stakeholders. It aims to facilitate regular exchange of views, promote dialogue and receive feedback.

This new forum is in a pilot phase, with a scope focused on the implementation of the EMA's extended mandate (Regulation (EU) 2022/123). EMA will discuss and receive feedback from industry representatives on new processes and IT tools (e.g. the European Shortage Monitoring Platform (ESMP) affecting them.

Specific topics related to the three main pillars of the EMA mandate extension will be discussed: the Emergency Task Force (ETF) , medicines and medical device shortages and finally the status of the activities of the medical device expert panels, updates on process development and the impact of specific industry stakeholders.
