The European Technology Platform for Global Animal Health (ETPGAH) is a group that aims to develop and deliver the most effective tools for controlling animal diseases of major importance to Europe and the rest of the world. Its work aims to improve:

  • human health;
  • animal health;
  • food safety and quality;
  • animal welfare;
  • market access.

The group was set up in 2004 under the leadership of the veterinary pharmaceutical industry. It brings together a range of stakeholders including academia, international organisations and regulatory authorities.

The Agency has been involved in ETPGAH's work since its launch. It supports ETPGAH's activities by taking part in the Disease Control Tools (DISCONTOOLS) project, carrying out a survey on the availability of vaccines against major animal diseases in February 2010.

The work of ETPGAH is led by the International Federation for Animal Health (IFAH) Europe.
