This system verifies the authenticity of an electronic certificate issued by EMA on behalf of the European Commission, under the World Health Organization certification scheme on the quality of pharmaceutical products moving in international commerce. It does not include site-specific GMP certificates.

For more information, see Certification of medicinal products.

EMA is only issuing certificates electronically, as of March 2020. They are in PDF format, using an electronic signature that complies with Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 on the electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market (eIDAS Regulation)
